Crack Chicken can be found in the new Willis Lane and bought to you by David Lee and his business Candy Shop and Poni in Auckland, to name just a few. Crack Chicken is a fusion of American and Korean cuisine with Fried Chicken and Burgers.
First, I decided to try their Corn dog. To be honest, I was really excited. There are not many places in Wellington that make a Korean Corn Dog. However, when I saw it, I was disappointed and when I bit into it, I was even more disappointed. First was the size, man, this is small and half the size of the ones you get in Auckland. Secondly, when I bit into it, I was surprised to see how much dough was wrapped around the cheese and sausage. Overall, I liked the taste and the added sugar and tomato sauce. However, for the price, it is so overpriced.

I also ordered a Yangnyeom Chicken burger with a Donut bun. When it was ready to be picked up, I was again taken back, thinking, why is this so small. The bun was tiny and I was also saddened that the chicken only had the sauce poured on top, not coated with it. The overall burger is good, but things just lacked in overall impressiveness and I felt I was being cheated on. The chicken was not crispy, and the salad was ok but I did like the donut bun.

Overall, I was not impressed with this place. Yes, I understand how expensive it can be to run an eatery, but I feel we are being taken for a ride and I was just disappointed with this place. If it wasn’t for the location and being in a nice foodcourt, not in its own premises. I think this place will fail. If you are looking for another eatery that is similar but better go to Platform 145 in town or make your way to K-Bristo Chicken in Miramar or Paraparaumu.
