I was walking around Ximending night market and saw this long line of people queueing to try some food. After investigating, I discovered this place only served one dish, and you can buy either large or small. I also found that this place is super famous for its one dish of flour rice noodles.

The next night, I decided to give this place a try. The line moves fast, but it is super packed as people like to eat the flower rice noodles in front of the shop. I decided to go for the large and added some vinegar, garlic, and chilli to my pot of food. First bites, and I can see why people lined up for this place. These noodles were so tasty. They come piping hot, and the noodles are super fine and include some kind of offal. However, I feel that the offal adds to the flavour and texture of the dish. You taste this warm comfort food that goes straight to your heart. The gravy is smoky, fishy, and peppery, and it all combines to make an outstanding, cheap bowl of noodles. The noodles are super soft, and you eat the dish with a spoon. There is just heaps of flavour in this bowl.

It’s definitely a place that is worth visiting. It’s super cheap, super comforting, and so good to eat on a cold day. I wish I just had the recipe so I could make it at home.
