When I was a young kid people use to by Pineapple cakes for my mum to thank her, and of course us kids got to eat them. To be honest, I was never really a fan after receiving and eating so many. However, 30 years have passed and as I am in Taipei I thought I would give them a try again.

Somewhere that did interest me while doing my research was Sunny Hill. A Pineapple cake producer and also one of the only highly recommended places that give a free sample in Taipei. When I arrived I got taken to a seat and given a whole cake in a wrapper and some tea. However, it wasn’t the pineapple cake, it was their “Christmas special” apple cake. First off, the tea was unbelievable. So refreshing and so tasty. The apple cake was not what I expected. It was so good. I really liked it.

Basically, if you want to get some free food and in a lovely environment to relax in and not worry about anything. This is the place to go and also where the retired people go for a free snack. They refill your tea when it is empty and I felt no stress to buy anything. However, I ended up doing so to buy as gifts.
