Of course, I had to return to Lune while in Melbourne. However, I didn’t go to the one in the city. I decided to go to the OG in Fitzroy. It was midmorning on a weekday, so luckily, it wasn’t too busy. However, there was still a line that began outside.

While waiting in line, a staff member asked us if we wanted to takeaway or dine in. My friend and I decided to dine in, so we put our names down with the staff member. Just as we were about to order, our table became available, so it was perfect timing.

I decided to order the month of April specials; the Everything croissant and the Anzak Ka. The Everything croissant was an interpretation of the Everything bagel and, in my opinion, did an even better job. There was the typical everything bagel seasoning, and it also included baked-in cream cheese. Just tasted like an Everything bagel but with the buttery goodness of the croissant pastry. I could not believe how good this pastry was. The Anzak Ak was the play on the Anzac biscuit. It had the caramelised essence of an Anzac biscuit with rolled oats and coconut and the croissant pastry combined with it. This is the best interpretation I have had of an Anzac biscuit. it was a bit on the sweet side. However, it was still excellent.

Lune has been around for a while now and has its processes down pat. The excellent service didn’t include staff behind the counter, wandering around the tables, and ensuring a fast turnover once people had left their tables. It is always a pleasure to come to this place. I prefer to go to Fitzroy as it is spread out.
