I found myself at K. Soup in Auckland once more, conveniently located just a few doors down from my hotel. Knowing it gets busy, I arrived just before 6 p.m., and I’m glad I did. A large group of about 24 people showed up right at 6, and soon after, the place was packed with diners waiting outside.

I ordered the Seafood Tofu Soup and a Welch grape soda. My food came out quickly, accompanied by rice, and I was pleasantly surprised by the house-made kimchi and pickled radish that arrived just before my soup. The dish was steaming hot—an understatement, really! I let it cool for a bit, watching the bubbles settle, and then it was finally time to dig in. The soup was spicy and delicious, and I loved the silky texture of the tofu. However, I wished there was a bit more seafood; there were only two mussels and two prawns.

Overall, it was another fantastic meal, and it’s clear why this place is so popular. A charming family business with incredible kimchi—what more could you ask for?
