We were pleasantly surprised to receive pizza from Trader Jacks, thanks to a colleague who brought some back to our accommodation. Trader Jacks is practically synonymous with Rarotonga, so it was a nice treat.
The pizzas were really good overall. The Hawaiian, a classic with pineapple, was surprisingly enjoyable, even though I’m usually not a fan of pineapple on pizza. The cheese and ham were high quality, which made a difference. My favourite was the Alfies pizza, which had alfredo sauce, mozzarella, grilled bacon, mushrooms, and spicy hot honey. I liked how the bacon was grilled beforehand, as it produced a stronger, more delicious flavour, while the mushrooms added a nice earthy touch with the honey and alfredo sauce. The Thai chicken pizza was also great, with the sweet chilli sauce complementing it well, although I wasn’t a fan of the coriander sprinkled on top.

For a small island like Rarotonga, the pizzas were impressive. The crusts had a nice thickness, and the tomato sauce base was flavorful. Even though the pizzas were unexpected, they made for a satisfying late-night snack.
