I first discovered this place on Instagram, though I hadn’t planned to visit. When we arrived in Harajuku, I stumbled upon it just outside the train station. There was a long line outside, which I took as a good sign.

Initially, I hesitated since it only had a 3.7 rating on Google reviews. But seeing so many locals lining up convinced me to try it. We waited in line for a while, during which the staff handed out menus so we could decide what to order ahead of time.

I ordered three doughnuts: pistachio, custard, and their signature freshly made doughnut. Although the wait was about 25 minutes, the process felt smooth and efficient. Once we got the doughnuts, we found a spot nearby to sit and enjoy them.

I started with the “I’m Donut?” freshly made doughnut. Its appearance caught my attention—it was dark, almost burnt-looking, and heavily dusted with powdered sugar. However, the taste was far from burnt. The texture was unique; it was incredibly soft and nearly seemed undercooked, resembling raw dough. Despite this, it didn’t taste raw and was surprisingly delicious.

The pistachio cream doughnut had the same soft texture as the freshly made one. The pistachio cream paired perfectly with the dough, and I finished everything. My favourite, however, was the custard doughnut. The rich, creamy custard filling complemented the doughnut perfectly, and as someone who loves custard, I think it hit the spot. I also tried their matcha doughnut, which was another standout. At first bite, it felt like you weren’t eating much, but a few seconds later, the matcha flavour, combined with white chocolate, came through beautifully. I was thoroughly impressed.

I can see how the low Google rating might put some people off. Many seem to think the doughnuts are undercooked due to their texture. However, I loved the unique consistency and flavours and would return for more.
