Back in Hong Kong for a few days as a stopover on the way to Japan, I naturally focused on one thing: eating. I had saved a few spots to try since my last visit a few months ago, and this place was at the top of the list.

It was highly rated on Google and had been getting some attention on social media, so since it was close to my hotel, I figured it was perfect for my first night back in the city. When I arrived just after 6 p.m., there was already a queue of young locals, and the smell of prawns cooking filled the air. The line moved quickly, and while waiting, I was given a complimentary bottle of water and a menu to fill out. The menu is simple: choose a soup base, two types of noodles, and optional seafood. I went with ramen noodles, extra spring onions, and a boiled egg.

Once seated, my bowl arrived almost immediately. It came topped with three prawns and the spring onions. With the egg served on the side. The aroma was rich and intense. My first sip of the broth hit with a strong, creamy prawn flavour, enhanced by a punchy layer of oil drizzled over the top. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and to my surprise, the prawns were fully shelled with the heads still on.

This place is a real winner. I was hesitant to go since I’ll be in Japan in a few days, but I’m glad I didn’t skip it—the shrimp-based broth was worth it. Service was efficient, the line moved steadily, and even with the wait I was in and out in about 15 minutes. Most people eat quietly and get on with their night.

To be honest, I don’t understand the name. However, an excellent spot for a quick, satisfying bowl of ramen.
