I was walking around Central when I noticed a line forming outside a bakery. Then it clicked—this was one of the spots I’d seen recommended all over social media. Since the queue was moving quickly (especially compared to Bakehouse across the escalator), I decided to pop in and check it out.
I ordered their two most popular danishes: the Pistachio Custard Danish and the Matcha Mochi Danish. They ended up dragging them around in a box for the afternoon, and I didn’t try them until I was back at my hotel that evening. Despite the travel time, they held up well. The pistachio custard was softer than expected, but it still kept its shape.
I tried the Pistachio Custard Danish first. As many Asians would say, “it wasn’t too sweet,” which made it easy to eat. The pastry was beautifully flaky and paired really well with the creamy custard and the smooth pistachio filling.

The Matcha Mochi Danish was a more unique concept. I actually forgot it had mochi in it at first. The matcha flavour was mild and not overly sweet, but once you hit the mochi, the danish took on a new flavour profile and a pleasantly chewy texture.
Overall, like with Hashtag B, I feel this place might be a bit overhyped. The pastries were delicious, and I enjoyed the textures and components of both, but it’s not something I’d go out of my way to have again or did I just order the wrong thing?
