When people travel overseas, they often end up at McDonald’s. Since I’m not much of a McDonald’s eater, I went for my usual go-to fast-food spot abroad: Shake Shack. The menu has definitely evolved since the last time I had it in Hong Kong. There are now salads and other new variations, and one of the specials was a white truffle burger.

I ordered the white truffle burger with bacon, a side of cheese fries, and their Taro Cookies & Cream shake. The burger came with deep-fried onions, white truffle sauce, truffle oil, and the extra bacon I added. At first, I wasn’t sure if it was just me or if shrinkflation had shrunk the burger. Still, it was presented really well compared to other burger joints—you could clearly see all the different components. The taste didn’t disappoint either, and it reminded me why I always gravitate toward Shake Shack.

The cheese fries were as good as expected, but what surprised me most was how fresh and crispy the chips were—a real bonus. The Taro Cookies & Cream shake was one of the best shake variations I’ve ever had. I loved the texture of the taro cookie, and the hint of coconut from the coconut flakes added a nice touch.

Overall, I feel Shake Shack maintains a high level of quality. The burger tasted fresh, the fries were excellent, and the service was great. Those small details really elevate the fast-food experience and make it more enjoyable.
