I decided to visit the Supreme Coffee store near Shinjuku, mainly out of curiosity about their coffee. I’d also heard good things about their doughnuts, and I knew they sold some merchandise that you can’t get back in Wellington.
When I arrived, I ordered a flat white and a doughnut, and I also bought two of their stacker cups. Over the years, I’ve somehow managed to collect a few, but more recently, I’ve decided to build the collection actively. Supreme Coffee has been releasing cups made in Japan, and the ones I picked up were part of that range.

The flat white tasted just like home — perfect, reliable, with solid flavour and nice crema. The doughnut was also excellent. It was served warm, with a crisp, caramelised icing that paired really well with the coffee.
It was surprisingly comforting to find a little piece of home in Tokyo. The staff member taking my order clearly knew their stuff, was super helpful, and genuinely cared about the product. The café also has a courtyard at the top of the building where you can sit and enjoy your coffee. Unfortunately, I missed out on that experience as the weather wasn’t great.
