I was wandering around K Road and wanted to try a pie place that people have been discussing, which I thought was PieFee. It seemed popular when I was there, so I thought I had found the right place. Exciting pie flavours were on offer, so I thought I would try their Breakfast pie with bacon and order one of their Flat whites.

The Pie was a good size, and the pastry was nice and fluffy. Beans with onions and tomato (housemade baked beans, I think), chopped-up bacon, and a hash brown were inside the pie as the filling. Honestly, I thought the pastry was a bit too thick, and it was slightly on the dry side. Maybe adding some tomato sauce on top would have benefited, or adding more liquid to the backed beans as they were not as dry.

The Flat white was OK. They use Kokako beans, and I have never really been a fan. I just wanted a bit more punch to the coffee, and it tasted more like a latte than a flat white. Also, it could have been a single shot of espresso, not a double shot.

Overall, I did get the wrong Pie shop, and I was disappointed with this place. This is just my personal opinion. As I continued walking down Karangahape Road, I found the pie shop I wanted to go to. Doh!!!!
