As no one wanted to cook we decide to get Indian takeaways. We discovered that there was an eatery called Bombay Palace close which was close to our accommodation in Frankton. I did do a online search on TripAdvisor search and the place had some good ratings, which was a bonus.
Butter Chicken
grilled chicken, cooked with tomatoes, crushed cashews, cream and spices
This was good. It was not too sweet or too rich from the cream or butter. I did wonder if the chicken was acutely cooked in the tandoori oven or was it just normal chicken. Not bad for a Butter chicken.
Malai Kofta
Croquette of cottage cheese, potatoes and nuts, simmered in light cashew sauce
This was different to any other malai kofta I have had. The sauce was very thick and the balls were heavily made of potatoes and made them very dense. I am more use of them being fluffy because of the cottage cheese. The overall curry was nice but I have had better.
Lamb Bhuna
Cubes of lamb cooked with tomatoes, onions, fresh herbs and spices. A Punjabi delicacy
This was my favorite of the the curries. The lamb has nice and tender and the curry had a really good hit of spice to it. There were also nice chunks of onion that were really tender and added a good flavor to the curry. Overall a very nice curry that I would order again.
Tandoori Chicken
Chicken marinated in yoghurt and freshly ground spices, skewered, and char grilled to order
This was really nice. The chicken was nicely seasoned and was tender. The chicken was perfectly cooked and had a good colour to it compared to other places where it can be majority black in colour.
Garlic Naan
This was nicely cooked and had a good garlic hit to it. We were all surprised at the size of the Naan. However, I was surprised to see the garlic on the outside of the Naan and not in the inside.
Overall not a bad place for curries, especially for takeaway. All the curries come with rice. Also the food did not take long to get ready as we rung ahead of time. They also do delivery for an extra $8 but we decided to drive there instead.
