Well, it is summer break and I now have time to do a bit of relaxing and go out to eat a bit, well actually a lot. I decided to try some of the new places that have opened around Wellington and one of the places I decided to try was Bottega which is from the owners of Cicio Cacio Osteria. They decided to open a deli and sell goods that you can take away and eat at home but there are a few seats to which you can dine in. They sell a section of heat and eat Italian dishes and also have a few Italian supplies that you can purchase as well.
A basic pasta dish but tasted really good. The dish is vegetarian and if you want a vegan option is available and they won’t add parmesan cheese to the dish. The pasta was cooked nicely and if you are eating in they will put it into the microwave to heat it up.
Meatballs with Mushroom and Cream
I do find it hard not to eat meat, so I decided to try their meatball with mushroom and cream sauce. The meatball was nice and tender and had a lot of flavour to it. The cream sauce was really good and the mushrooms were a total bonus. The sauce also goes really well with the pesto pasta. However, I do think that the meatball is slightly on the expensive side for $5 and wonder if it is more worth it if you pay a higher price for two meatballs or increase the size of it.
Mozarella and Onion Pizza
This came fresh out of the oven and was really good. The combination of mozzarella and red onion was really nice with some dried herbs added on top. The base was nice and crisp at the bottom and had a nice rustic flavour and look to it.
The food here is really good and well worth a visit. The food is great to take it away and heat up at home. Apparently, you can also bring your own containers if you want. Eating there is pretty nice. However, when my friend and I went the eatery was really warm due to the oven. One of the downsides is they didn’t serve coffee when we went and had to go down the road to get one afterwards. Overall a great place and a great addition to Berhampore.
