I have said this before, I still believe it and that Whanganui-a-Tara has no real good place for Ramen. I would say Townhouse Ramen is very good but you just cannot just go in and eat it when you like. So when I go travelling I always try and find a place to sustain my ramen cravings. I looked on Google and Ramen Ria came up. It was rated the best in the city and could not be bothered leaving the CBD as I did not have a car.

Ramen Ria is popular in Ōtautahi and not surprised to see a line to eat there with its limited seating inside and outside. I decided to order two dishes; the Karaage Chicken and the Signature Miso. When the Karaage arrived, I was surprised to see how generous they were with their servings and that there was pickled ginger on the side. The chicken was nicely cooked and having it with kewpie and the pickled ginger was really good.

The bowl of ramen and arrived and I was slightly surprised to see how small the bowl was, even though afterwards I was relatively full. The soup really took me back due to the firecracker chilli oil and the sichaun spiced ground pork. However, it was a good combination with the miso broth. The egg was cooked perfectly and the noodles were on point. Overall a really good bowl or ramen and I would like to try their other bowls of ramen.
