The last day in Los Angeles and the family wanted a Diner experience, so on our phones, we went and found Mel’s Diner, which was close to where we were staying, had good reviews and was also on the way to LAX. Mel’s has a lovely Diner feel, an extensive Menu, valet parking and is open 24 hour diner.
I decided to order Fried Chicken on Waffles and a Coke. As expected, the Coke came with unlimited refills. However, the glass it came in was super big, and I struggled even to finish one full glass. When Fried Chicken arrived, I knew there would be four pieces. However, I did not expect to get half a chicken and there to be butter and two small cups of syrup. However, this was a good Fried Chicken. It was lightly seasoned, and the chicken was crunchy. The waffles surprised me by having spring onions inside the batter, and they lifted the flavour of the waffle and the chicken. Overall, it was a fantastic dish and thankfully, I shared some of the meal with someone else.

The whole party seemed to enjoy their food. The Nephews enjoyed their burgers which were presented in a box in a shape of a car. I also tried the mozzarella sticks, and they were good but pretty solid, and I also tried their garlic cheese fries, and they were impressive. Overall a good diner experience. I have not been in a Diner in American since 2004 and really enjoyed the experience and the food.
