Decided to give Swings a try. I am not 100% sure how I know about this place, but it has been mentioned several times, and I thought I would try it. It is a sandwich shop that makes Korean Street Toast. It has several versions, some sides and coffee. So I thought I would go there before I had to go to the airport to board my plane back to Wellington.

I ordered the Bully with Egg, Lettuce, Marinated Beef with Mayo and Bulgogi sauce inside, their Spicy Fried Chicken skewer and some of their cold brew coffee. Firstly, the Cold Brew, these guys make a good cold brew. A nice refreshing alternative to a long black but with heaps more flavour. The Spicy Fried Chicken skewer was really good. Not as crispy as I thought it would be. However, still really good. Love the flavours of the sauce and love the spice level. Spicy enough to give it a real kick but not too hot that it lingers. Then there is the toast. This was a good toast; it didn’t look much in its packaging. However, the flavours were really good. I loved the sweetness of the bulgogi sauce, and the combination of an egg was good. I just wished I knew you could add one of the hashbrowns inside, as that would have moved it up to an even higher level of fantastic.

I really enjoyed this spot. Such a good toast. I will need to go back and try more of their sandwiches, especially by adding their hashbrowns inside. Good service and a nice hangout. Just be prepared to walk up the hill from Queens Street.
