Even though I have been out to dinner every night this week. It was a nice night and “Pepper Potts” and I usually go out Thursday nights, so why break with tradition and we decided to go have dinner at Charlie Noble. I was excited as Charlie Noble were the winning burger last year so was interested to see what their burger for 2015 would be like.
Ebisu Burger
Moana Pacific fish burger with house chutney and Japanese mayonnaise in a Brezelmania squid ink bun, with shoestring fries. Ebisu is the Japanese god of fishermen and luck.
What presentation of a burger. There was a very clear theme of food from the sea with the presentation of this burger. Loved the kiti with the French fires inside, which looked and tasted like they are made on site. They were well seasoned and had a very good crunch to it and the dipping sauce was really nice. The burger was great and nice to see the lemon covered in cloth and had a fish hook tied onto it. The fish was very nice, especially with the sauce, pickled cucumber, the fresh lettuce and the Japanese mayonnaise, which had a nice wasabi kick to it. Overall a great huger.
Marshmallow
“Pepper Potts” wanted to order the marshmallows as she had had them before, but I had not. As soon as I tried one I wanted more. They were so nice. They had a nice raspberry taste with a pink swirl in the white marshmallow. The texture was spongy and had the right amount of sweetness.
Overall the dinning experience was very nice except for a bit of a wait to order our food. I have always liked Charley Nobles and their sister restaurant Whitebait. The burger and fries were both very nice and presented very nicely. It was original and had a good theme that you could identify. The score I gave the burger was not a surprise 10 out of 10.
