I was in Rotovegas for a conference with a group of colleagues. We decided to head down to the famous Eat Street and see what was on offer. Someone eventually decided upon Solace as they felt like fish’n’chips and some New Zealand cuisine.
Solace Worx Burger – Special
Home made beef patty, seared with cheese, tomato, lettuce, bacon, egg, aoli, and a side of fries and o-rings.
I decided to go for their burger with fries. Firstly their fries were just your standard fries, nothing really special here. However, they were well seasoned and nicely cooked. The burger was used with ciabatta bread, which was really nice. The bread was slightly toasted in the inside and one side there was aloi on it and some cheese meted one top. The patty was made of beef and was made on-site, which was nicely season and had some nice herbs inside. There was also a fried egg inside, with a slice of tomato and mesclun salad. Finally on top there was a nicely cooked onion ring. Overall this burger was very nice and the different ingredients worked really well.
Overall this is not a bad place. It is relativity pumping due to the restaurant being in Eat Street. The service was good, took a while for the food but we were a table of six. So if you look for some classic NZ cuisine in Rotorua this is the place to go.
