Bernadette wanted to catchup with B1, B2 and I before we started work again for the year. Although we were all on summer break it was not as easy as we thought it would be to see each other. However, we found a day and time that suited and I recommended to go to Olive. I have not been to Olive since my university days and even though I kept meaning to go I never really had the opportunity to go, Even though I kept hearing good things about Olive
Buttermilk fried chicken with sriracha dressing, bean salad and green apple
As soon as I saw this on the menu I had to order it, as I am a sucker for fried chicken. When it came out, I was surprised how it was presented. I thought everything would have it’s own little space on the plate, but I was wrong. Everything was layered one on top of each other. Turning the separate parts into a very nice presented salad. The fried chicken was nicely seasoned and cooked. However, the coating was not as crisp as I thought it would be. The bean salad was made mostly of white beans and bean beans. It had a great texture and nicely seasoned without that vinegar taste you sometimes get from a bean salad. Then when you combine the finely sliced apple which sweeten the salad and the dressing. You have this really nice light lunch dish.
Flat White
Not a bad coffee. It is lighter than I expected it to be and was more rounded in flavor than dark. I wonder what bean they use here?
Overall nothing has really changed since I last came here over 10 years ago. Still a great Cafe serving great food with great service. The courtyard is always great on a sunny day and the decor is still generally the same but clean. I will need to go back and hopefully it will be a lot sooner than 10 years.
