Sunday Brunch time and I asked Betty Boop if she was interested in going somewhere to eat. She was interested and I decided we try Neo Cafe. To be honest, I have actually never been here before. This place has been in Wellington for years but apparently has changed owners. I did want to try their Wellington on a Plate burger last year but never manage to get there to try it.

Eggs Benedict

Salmon, poached eggs, hollandaise, on house hash brown

This sounded great, especially with the hash brown included in the dish. When it arrived, it looked amazing and I loved the wedge of lemon included with it. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the salmon was really nice, the hash didn’t seem to be deep fried but was really nicely cooked and the hollandaise bought everything together really nicely. A great Eggs Benny.

Custard Square

Although I did not need this. This looked fantastic that I just had to have one. I would rate this custard square as the best in Wellington. The custard cream was good consistency and good flavour and the chocolate on top had a good heavy chocolate taste. Bring it all together and I could have had two.

Flat White

This was a damn good coffee. They use Supreme Coffee beans and their barista is a good coffee marker. It had a nice dark flavour with depth from the beans with a good ratio of espresso to milk. This could be my new coffee go to place when I am in the city.

I can now see why people keep coming to Neo for food. The food is good and also the service. We were warned that there would be a 25 plus minute wait and we were happy to wait for our food.  However, just after we started eating the food someone apologised and offered us an extra free coffee. I was totally blown back! Neo, well done and I will definitely be back.
