Just discovered this place while walking around Kampong Glam and noticed that there was a long line to get in, so I decided to give it a try. I usually go through a coffee detox while I travel but I thought I would break it as I needed something cold to drink and somewhere to rest.

Arabica is a coffee chain from Japan and has outlets all over the world. The design of the shop is pretty cool and minimalist with nice-looking coffee machines and Chemex vessels lining a wall. They have a small roaster on-site so don’t necessarily receive their roast beans from Japan. They also have some nice merchandise and found that they have a shot glass with markings for espresso. However, unfortunately they did not have any in stock in the shop.

The coffee is really nice here and strong. I decided to order a macchiato with their single-origin bean which had a really nice strong body and just the right amount of frothed milk. I also decided to go for an iced latte, not a drink I usually have but I wanted something cold as well. The iced latte was actually really nice and of good quality with a really good strong shot of their blended espresso and a good ratio of milk.

If this is the only coffee shop that I go to during my travels I wouldn’t be sad as it was really good with good quality coffee. The service was really good and moved relatively fast.
