I had discovered my friend from South Africa was in Singapore at the same time as me so we decided to meet up. She decided we should try this Ramen Resturant that is in Chijmes and has received a Michelin Star for its restaurant in Japan. There are also different locals in Singapore each having a signature bowl at each of its locations.

The Chijmes location has a relatively small amount of indoors but you can also sit outside which is covered but was hot and humid outside that we decided to wait for a table inside. Once we ordered we received a little mise en plus of clams on top of some rice. It was really nice and got the taste buds working as the clams were quite salty. We also ordered some karaage chicken which was really nice and was hot for a very long time.

I decided to order the meal deal of the Coconut Paitan Ramen with an Iced Lemon Tea. The bowl of ramen consisted of a broth with coconut milk. The broth was really nice and tasted slightly like a Laksa but still very ramen like. Also in the ramen was Otah, Roasted Potato, Prawn, Coriander, Low-Temperature Cha Siu. The ramen noodles were really nicely cooked where they had a nice bite to them and everything else worked really well except a bit too much coriander for me on top. Also, Pepper Potts ordered the karaage chicken and it was really good as well.

I did go back another time and tried their Michelin Star Ramen. Which is a Japanese broth with stock from hamaguri clams and pork broth and garnished with housemade Tartufa (black truffle paste) porcini oil and porcini flakes, Low temperatured (sous vide) cha siu, belly cha siu, white leek and spring onions. I also ordered an egg and some extra cha siu for extra luck. I have to say the broth was so intense and had so many different layers of flavours. It was really good. The ramen was really well cooked and I loved to slurp those noodles up.

Overall great ramen here. The service was good and luckily I didn’t have to wait for a table both times I went. Well worth a visit if you like Ramen.
