Now living in a post-COVID-19 era (hopefully), I decided to go travel and support the local tourist economy of Christchurch. My friend decided that we go to Welles Street, which made it easy for them as it was suitable for their child. I originally thought it was just a location but discovered after using Google, I discovered it was a Pub.

Welles Street is mainly a pub and has good food.  They have a good variety of craft beers and a nice outdoor area, which gets good midday/afternoon sun. They have released some post-Covid promotions to entice people back and as we went on Tuesday they had two for one deal on their souvlaki. We ordered all four as it was easier between three of us plus a little child but it meant I was just a bit more full than usual.

With the souvlaki, they are all different in terms of salads, and sauces.

LAMB; Iceberg, hummus, tabbouleh, tzatziki, charred onion, tomato & green chilli harissa

CHICKEN; Welles Street slaw, hummus, tzatziki, fries & feta

FISH; Turmeric battered fish, iceberg, hummus, tabbouleh, herb mayo, lemon & red onion

FALAFEL; Hummus, tabbouleh, tomato, cucumber, pickled onion, slaw, feta & tzatziki

The pita bread was really nice and grilled nicely as I think they are made in house. I did like how all the fillings were different and personally, I liked the fish one the best, followed by the chicken. Everything was fresh and tasty. I feel if I go again, I would see if they have some hot sauce to add to them.
