I have tried Burger Burger before in Auckland and thought they were opening an eatery in Wellington a while back. However, I don’t think that is happening anytime soon, so I decided to try the one in Christchurch which I was here. The location is on the city limits of Christchurch and has an outdoor area if that works for you but on a cold winter’s night, I decided to go inside.

Ordered the special which was Southern Fried Chicken and also some fries. The fries had a lot of potential the only problem was that they were over seasoned with salt which was a huge disappointment. The Southern Fried Chicken burger looked good. However, the chicken was dry and overcooked. Also, I thought it would be one piece of chicken thigh but ended up being chicken bits from the breast which made them fall out of the burger when you were eating it. I suspect they tried to compensate for it by adding in a corn salsa and hot sauce but the chicken bites just ruined it for me.

Was not impressed with Burger Buger in Christchurch. It was quiet and does make well being for staff difficult and I kind of could felt it. Really disappointing and maybe if I do try another Burger Burger, I will stick to the beef burgers.
