I like going to this place and have been numerous times but have never written about it. V and I decided to go for dinner after watching Mad Max; Fury Road (which is a fantastic movie). From what I have been told this place makes real genuine Malay food. I usually go her for lunch on a Saturday if I am in town, but rarely eat here at dinner. During lunch service you order at the counter and during the evening it is waitered service. Even though they have same menu at lunch and dinner the prices are more expensive at dinner time.
Claypot Rice
This is a great dish. The rice is cooked in the claypot and what I love about it is the crispy rice on the bottom. It is nicely seasoned and has chicken, Chinese mushrooms, Chinese sausage and some dried shrimp. I always add in the onion chili they put on a spoon and I always ask for a bit more to give it that extra kick.
Plain Roti
The great thing about this dish is that it is the genuine thing. The roti comes with a side of onion chili/sambal and some curry sauce to dip the roti in. The roti I feel are slightly on the thin side, but the onion chili has a nice sweet flavour to it and good amount of chili. The curry sauce is also very nice and has good flavour and spiciness from the spice.
Desert
I have no idea the name of this desert. It was a last minute buy and I just wanted to try something. It had a gluttonous rice bottom with some food colouring and an egg custard at the top. It was not at all sweet and was not bad. It did become a bit too rich towards the end. I liked it but would not necessarily buy it again.
Overall this place is great and I can see why people always come here to eat. The server we had though was not as good as the others. She forgot about our drinks and I noticed when the other server asked her about it, just gave the innocent smile and sorry looking face. I have also tried the Nasi Lemak, Mee goreng and the Char Kuey Teow, which are all very nice.

I LOOOOVED Mad Max. I think it’s the first movie in a long time that I wanted to see again immediately after seeing it.
Claypot Rice is perfect for this weather. I love me a bit of Chinese sausage 😀
