Had another show to go with the NZ Festival and again wanted a fast-ish meal. Had not been here for a while and decided to go back as it was a slightly colder night and wanted something to warm me up and for this reason, I decided to also continue my Laksa adventure around Wellington.
Curry Laksa
First off you notice the oil on top of the soup and secondly how much darker it is to others I have had. The Laksa is definitely curry powder based and has a sweetness to it. I actually do not think it has coconut milk in it. But has a good veggie or chicken stock base to it. In the Laksa are fish balls, fish cakes, crab sticks, pieces of chicken, tofu and half a boiled egg. Just like a typical laksa, there was also egg noodles and bean sprouts. Overall the laksa is nice and would be one of my top five.
Spring Rolls
I like the spring rolls even though they do not have a lot of flavour. They are of good size and only have vegetables in them. There is no extra flavouring in the spring rolls, but on the side you get a sauce which is slightly sweet.
I like going to K K and have been visiting this place since University. The food is very good and consistent, it is fast and it is cheap. The downside is that it can be hard to get a seat at times. I am a regular visitor and also eat their fried Haianese chicken rice and make a good Mee Goreng.
