Was browsing through Grabone and discovered that Ngon Vietnamese Kitchen was on there. I had an alright Bahn mi there and thought why not try one of their hot dishes. So I bought the voucher and managed to pop in while I was on break from work. The menu is quite extensive for a small kitchen but I manage to find something for a nice winter’s day.
Hue Spicy Noodles Soup
Beef, BBQ Pork, Vietnamese Sausage, Onion, Spring Onion, Spicy Lemongrass & Shrimp Paste Broth, Bean Sprouts, Carrot, Herbs
When this came to the table, I was slightly surprised to see everything was in the bowl without the usual suspects on a side plate. That a side, the bowl packed a lot into it. The beef was nicely cooked, The BBQ pork is slightly different and not as red in colour but nice and the Vietnamese sausage was also a good eat. The soup packed a lot of punch and had lots of flavours and kick from the chilli. The noodles were really nice, but slightly too soft and were surprised they were not the usual flat rice noodle but shaped like traditional noodles.
Overall a very good bowl of noodles. I was really impressed with this dish. The noodles came out in good speed as I suspect they make a lot of their food for the office workers. It was also good to see they are open during the evening which is a real bonus if I want to go back and try their other items on their menu, as I will be back.
