Discovered that Lune was going to open a brand new Croissanterie in the CBD while I was staying there and of course I had to go. Even though I had a free breakfast buffet waiting for me downstairs in the hotel restaurant. I got there around 8am and there was a line for people to go in and try the goods of Lune. Overhearing people in the line, quite a few people had never tried or been to their Croissanterie in Fitzroy and had heard so many good things about it, that they were eager to try it out. Their Croissanterie is about a quarter of the size in Fitzroy but surprisingly they are baking in-house, (but I do wondering if they are preparing the dough their as well). As it is so small they are only preparing a few different items compared to their bigger sister with only five options available.
Lemon Cruffin
This was just Devine. It is a messy eat but well worth it. The pastry is crispy and so fluffy and the lemon curd is nice and tart. Then you add the sugar that is lightly coated around the cruffin and the candied lemon zest and you have such a great guilty pleasure. Just so good!
Flat White
decided to also try out their coffee and ordered a strong Flat White. first thing I will say is, just stick to making croissants. The coffee (even though I asked for strong) was not that strong. The coffee lacked depth and that extra bite you want when you order a flat white. Really disappointing.
